ADULT SERVICES

COURT SERVICES
There are three Adult Investigation units that conduct felony and misdemeanor pre-sentence investigations, as well as prepare Superior Court reports that include a recommendation as to an appropriate disposition. These units also prepare Notice of Charged Violations, supplemental reports and various memos for the Superior Court. Officers in the Prop 36 unit perform a variety of specialized functions including preparation of brief sentencing reports for the Prop 36 Court. The Prop 36 Sr. DPO acts as the Court Officer for Prop 36 Court.

FIELD SERVICES
There are a total of five field units that monitor adult offenders throughout the County. The Intensive Supervision Services - Adult unit supervises offenders convicted of felonies who pose the highest risk to the community, as well as a limited number of high-risk misdemeanor offenders. Officers in this unit are armed and they provide a high level of supervision, surveillance and testing to relatively small caseloads. The West County Felony Supervision unit supervises felony offenders north of the Conejo grade, while the East County Field Services unit supervises adult felony and misdemeanor offenders in the East county area. In this unit, risk to the community and subsequent adjustment to probation supervision determine the level of supervision (minimum to maximum) as well as caseload size. There are a total of two units that monitor misdemeanor offenders in the West County area including, Oxnard Misdemeanor Probation Services and Ventura Misdemeanor Probation Services. Caseloads in these units include first time and multiple DUI, domestic violence, drug diversion, child support and a range of other misdemeanor offenses.
